LANO Agronomic Laboratory

Analyze to Understand and Decide

a key player in the agricultural sector

The LANO agronomic laboratory is a key player in the agricultural sector, offering analysis and consulting services for soil, forage and livestock feed, nitrogen residues, livestock effluents and digestates.

LILANO, through its LANO agronomic department, supports you with different types of analyses offered by the laboratory, as well as their practical applications to improve your performance

Analysis of Forage and Livestock Feed

At the heart of developing efficient livestock farming, proper forage management is essential to ensure optimal performance. The forage analyses conducted by the LANO Agronomic Laboratory allow evaluation of their nutritional quality.

Chemical composition of forage

  • Dry matter: determined by the reference methodology, it provides indication about forage conservation, storage, and distribution.
  • Crude fiber: fiber content is an indicator of digestibility and available energy for ruminant animals.
  • Crude protein: essential for animal growth, development, and reproduction. Precise analysis allows adaptation of rations to the specific needs of each animal category.
  • Mineral matter: indicates the richness in mineral elements essential for animal physiology.
  • Pepsin cellulase digestibility: This method uses enzymes that simulate food digestion in the Rumen.

Soil Analysis: Fertility Assessment

For rational management of crop fertilization, it is essential to know the availability of nutrients in the soil.

This allows adjustment of fertilizer inputs and limitation of environmental pollution risks.

The LANO agronomic laboratory performs soil analyses, taking into account the planned crop type, geo-pedological location, and cultivation history.

Which analyses

  • For chemical fertility control: request chemical analysis of pH, Organic Carbon (organic matter), Phosphorus, Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium, Sodium, and CEC (Saturation rate calculation).
  • To understand soil physical characteristics: request physical analysis (particle size): Clay, fine and coarse silt, fine and coarse sand.
  • For deeper analysis: request trace elements: Copper, Zinc, Manganese, Iron and Boron, mainly in cases of observed deficiencies in animals or field crops.
  •

Analysis

Nitrogen Residue Analysis

Implementation of this analysis remains the most reliable method to optimize agronomic and economic yields of your crops. They allow achievement of optimum:

  • Agronomic: the right dose at the best time, for maximum yield.
  • Economic: best efficiency at minimum cost.
  • Qualitative: meeting specifications framework for certain crops.

Environmental: the right dose at the best time, to limit any risk of nitrate loss to groundwater or rivers.

Livestock Effluent Analysis

Energy Recovery from Waste

Management and treatment of livestock effluents (slurry, manure) are major challenges for farms, both from environmental and economic perspectives. The LANO Agronomic Laboratory offers expertise in analyzing the physicochemical characteristics of effluents.

To utilize them effectively, their nutrient content must be known. We optimize doses and thus avoid nitrogen leaching or, conversely, nutrient deficiencies
